Everything here is stored on this device only. Settings are kept in local storage rather than synced, because syncing them would upload your list of excluded sites to a server.

Reporting
Where "Report this pattern" submits. Leave empty and reporting copies the report to your clipboard instead, so the extension never has a destination you did not give it.
Your data
Ally has no server and no account. It stores your settings, the findings for open tabs, and the countdown observations it needs to tell a real deadline from a fabricated one. Telemetry does not exist, so there is nothing to switch off.
How this works, and what it cannot do
Every number this tool reports is arithmetic over something the browser can measure. Both of these ship with the extension and need no network.
- Methodology — every metric, and why each threshold is the number it is
- Known limitations — what it cannot read, and the accuracy figure it does not have
- Decision log — each choice that would be expensive or dishonest to reverse, with its reason
- Threat model — what this extension could do to you, what a measured site could do to you through it, and which of those are actually prevented
- Corrections and right of reply — what happens when a finding is wrong, and how a site disputes a rule that names it
- Store submission — the answers given to the Chrome Web Store, including why each permission is asked for
- Roadmap — what is built, what is deliberately not going to be, and what is waiting on a decision
